Finishing First LMCI welcomes Tim Stricker to his new role as director to work directly with International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) employers in North America to strengthen our partnerships in what is certain to be a busy construction industry as the United States and Canada emerge from the pandemic slowdown this year and beyond.
“Tim has the knowledge, experience and respect of both the union and the contractor community,” said Anton Ruesing, executive director of Finishing First, the jointly managed labor-management organization representing IUPAT members and employers. “As we open this new chapter for Finishing First LMCI, we have confidence that Tim will continue the legacy of successful labor management relationships and bring value to the industry and its stakeholders. I look forward to continuing to work with Tim as we fulfill our mission to increase market share and profitability of the finishing trades industries through labor and management collaboration.”
Mr. Stricker began his career with the IUPAT as a glazier apprentice with District Council 21/Local Union 252 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1980. In 1996, he was appointed as the organizer for Local Union 252, and assistant political director of District Council 21.
In 2006, Mr. Stricker was appointed as executive assistant to the general president at the IUPAT headquarters. From March 2007 through 2009, Stricker also served as the director of the IUPAT Government Affairs Department.
In 2013, he became an LMCI Industry Liaison tasked with spearheading the IUPAT Glazing Industry Initiative, a program designed to expand the IUPAT glazing market share and workforce.
“I would like to thank the board of trustees, the union and Anton for their confidence in offering the position,” said Stricker. “I look forward to continuing to work with the Finishing First LMCI team in expanding the respectful, cooperative partnerships we were able to build in the glazing industry over the past several years to our other represented crafts and industries while increasing our market share across the board.”
