As you may already know, the month of May has been designated, by OSHA, as “Stand Down to Prevent Falls” month. This is the 2nd annual campaign to bring awareness to the devastating effects of falls in the construction industry – which is the leading cause of fatalities. In conjunction with our local OSHA Office, AGMA and FTI are hosting an event that addresses three very important topics, designed to educate employers, lead job runners, and any individuals involved in the construction process where men and women are working at heights.
Topics for event:
Proper Inspection of faulty fall protection equipment (45 mins)
Proper Inspection of faulty fall protection equipment (45 mins)
Members of Mid-Atlantic Safety Council and OSHA showing proper inspection of equipment
Drop truck showing effects on body when dropped in harness
Fall Protection of Scaffolding (45 mins)
FTI Staff explaining proper fall protection when using supported and swing stage scaffolds
Floor and Wall Anchors for Fall Protection (45 mins)
Diamond Tool Safety Rep. showing how to properly prepare for those “unique” fall protection needs

Beverages and light refreshments will be served.
