Reminder: NGA no longer has certified glass installer program, AGMT is only recognized certified installer program

NGA has ended its NGA Certified Glass Installer Program. The certification program for architectural glass and metal installers was designed in 2002 to enhance professional standards. The respected industry credential often appeared in architectural specifications as an installer qualification. Effective immediately, the Architectural Glass & Metal Technician (AGMT) Certification is North America’s only glass installer certification program.

AGMT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Intended for experienced glazing supervisors and technicians, the AGMT Certification Program is not a training program, nor intended for inexperienced technicians. Among other prerequisites, eligible candidates must demonstrate at least 7,500 hours (within five years) of glazing-related work experience and possess OSHA 10 (or Canadian equivalent) certification.

The AGMT Certification Program is sponsored by the Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council (AGMCC), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, public benefit organization. The AGMT Certification Program has achieved ANSI accreditation to ISO/IEC 17024 standard. Accreditation to this standard ensures employers, candidates, and stakeholders that the test content is relevant to the technician’s job and skill set, and the program is consistently and fairly administered.
