In Memoriam: Rein P. Clabbers, AllGlass Systems Inc.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Reinier Peter Clabbers, 78, of both Warminster, PA, and Ft Myers, FL, on April 20,2021.

Rein is survived by his loving wife of 45 yrs, Brenda; their four children: Brenda Clabbers Mohr (Robert), Christopher Clabbers, Reinier Clabbers II, and Michelle Clabbers Atkinson (Patrick); siblings Gerard Clabbers (Ann) and Connie Henskens. Rein was also a devoted grandfather to three grandchildren; Emmett, Ryan, and Erin…who were the light of his life.

Born in Rotterdam, Holland, Rein was the son of the late Cornelius and Henrietta Rozenstraten Clabbers. After emigrating with his family from Holland in 1954, Rein, or “Dutch” as he became known, spent his youth in Layfayette, NJ, graduated from Pope John High School in 1960, worked at Perona Farms, and attended Michigan State University on a soccer scholarship. While a severe car accident in 1963 resulted in a long-term hospital stay and rendered his right leg unusable, Rein refocused, graduated college and vowed to live his life with purpose.

An early career in hotel management, time spent working with his brother, Gerry, at National Glass & Metal, and Rein’s own entrepreneurial spirit, laid the foundation for him to start Allglass Systems Inc. with his wife, Brenda, in 1975. It was through his leadership at Allglass that Rein made a positive impact within the tri-state architectural glass and metal industry and came to be a business advisor, supporter and friend to so many.

A longtime member of Langhorne Presbyterian Church, Rein held various positions, headed up their men’s group, and fully supported their Guatemala missions. Rein was a champion of the mission of Bethanna for over 20 years, serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and because of his love for golf lead their annual Golf Classic for over 17 yrs. His countless hours of service impacted thousands of children and families in Bethanna’s care over that time. Rein also recently received his 25 yr pin from the Newtown Masonic Lodge No. 427.

Even with a full professional life, Rein’s family always came first. Rein and Brenda were blessed to have traveled the world and made many lifelong friends that they enjoyed corresponding with.

Rein’s life was an illustration of deep faith, personal integrity, family focus, and a desire to give back. The impact he leaves on his family, friends and colleagues will certainly not fade with his passing.  Those who were fortunate to spend time with Rein will hopefully pay forward his dedication for supporting others and continue to make a positive impact.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Rein’s commitment to helping others by making donations to either Bethanna or Christ’s Home.

A Celebration of Life event for Rein is planned for July 6th, 2021 (Rein and Brenda’s 46th anniversary), at Christ’s    Home Community Center in Warminister, PA.   If you would like to share your memories, photos, or video messages,   for inclusion in the event, please email memoriesofrein@gmail.com or post on Rein’s tribute page at www.Fluehr.com.
