Glass Manipulator Training held for AGMA Members

IMG_0178

On Thursday, October 31 AGMA members participated in hands-on training using glass manipulators. Glass Manipulators can be described as a type of “mini-crane” or a machine that looks like aerial device with power cups. The training class covered operating procedures prior to using the manipulator, understanding the limitations of the machine, as well as safety and best practices. The Maeda MC-285C glass manipulator used in the training class has a boom that can expand to 28 feet and is capable of holding up to 6,000 pounds. It is designed to be compact enough to fit in regular man door.

There will be a second training course for glass manipulators on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 5:00 at FTI. To register call Matt Fox at 215-501-0130 x12 or email at: mattf@fti.edu.
