The building trades industry is booming in cities across North America.
The competition to secure contracts and recruit skilled, highly-trained workers has never been tougher.
The demographics of our industry are changing. And lawmakers and major developers are beginning to see the true value of fostering diversity in the workforce, implementing diversity requirements and (can we mention any other measures specifically?) across North America.
Our gold-standard training programs and our commitment to diversity is what gives our contractors a competitive edge in the bidding process. We must bring women, young people, and people of color into the fold — it’s vital for our bottom line.
And we need your support to make it happen.
This October, please encourage the tradeswomen at your job sites to attend the Trades Women Build Nations Conference.
Please spread the word to your employees to send female staff to the three-day conference celebrating women in the construction trades hosted by NABTU. In a male-dominated industry, it’s essential to support and uplift tradeswomen to increase diversity throughout our core crews.

Attendees will take part in workshops, networking events, and leadership development opportunities led by female union leaders. Trades Women Build Nations will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 6. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Registration and hotel rooms are filling up quickly!
Be sure to register ASAP.
By encouraging tradeswomen and women considering a career in the building trades, we strengthen our competitive edge. We need to uplift members from diverse backgrounds to recapture market share and to gain an advantage in the bidding process by complying with job site requirements for diversity.
We hope to see LMP attendees at Trades Women Build Nations this October!
